Ford showing off its muscle at Darlington in 1963. Ford took the top 8 places (2 Mercs included) that day. #9 was a Pontiac and #10 was a Chevy. The first Dodge looser was in 14th place (Shane), then a bunch more Fords. To be fair about things though, a Ford came in last after only completing one lap. It's thought by some that a Dodge engine had been installed by mistake after qualifying.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try, sometimes you might find you get what you need, for another tank of gas ... maybe.
You maybe had the early 60’s, but pretty sure Mopar dominated the later 60’s early 70s until they got sick of beating those clunky Fords and nascar had to ban the 426 Hemi because it was too powerful....but we all remember things a bit different 😆
